Bill Minutaglio - Author and Journalist in Austin

Based in Austin, Texas, Bill Minutaglio is an award-winning author and journalist who has held positions with the Dallas Morning News such as senior reporter, columnist, and editor. Over the course of nearly two decades, he has delivered coverage of conflicts in regions such as Central America and Eastern Europe. Bill Minutaglio has also reported on the events of 9/11 and covered major US natural disasters.

In 1994, Mr. Minutaglio earned recognition from the Dallas-Fort Worth Association of Black Communicators, winning first place in its Griot Awards for a piece titled “The Hole.” This Sunday magazine feature detailed the challenges and aspirations of homeless people living on a single alley in inner city Dallas. Mr. Minutaglio has also been a contributing and op-ed writer with many other publications over the years, including The New York Times, Washington Post, New Republic, and Politico.

Bill Minutaglio is the author of 10 books, including First Son: George W. Bush & The Bush Family Dynasty (Random House/Times Books), which was also published in China. As author of The President’s Counselor: The Rise to Power of Alberto Gonzales (Harper Collins/Rayo), he detailed the background and ideology of one of former President George W. Bush’s most powerful allies in Washington DC.
